Community Comes Together
for Benedictine Sisters Annual Spaghetti Dinner

Wednesday, March 26th, marked the 9th annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser hosted by the Benedictine Sisters of Boerne. The event was held at the Omega Retreat Center on the beautiful grounds of the Benedictines. The Sisters and staff, along with over 75 volunteers that included Benedictine Oblates, the Knights of Columbus and Boy Scouts from St. Peter’s Parish, and friends of the Benedictines, orchestrated another fun, successful event that served a traditional spaghetti meal to nearly 500 guests.

“There is a tremendous amount of coordination involved to make this event happen,” said Sister Bernadine Reyes, OSB - Prioress of the Benedictine Sisters. “Most of our food and beverage items were donated, all the silent auction items were donated, and our volunteers donated their time and energy. We are truly blessed by the generosity of so many dedicated people,” she added.

Accordionists Robert Atwood and John McDonald delighted guests with a variety of festive music. The silent auction attracted many excited bidders and included a wide array of items from numerous local supporters.

The Benedictines wish to thank everyone involved for their continued support, donations, and time. All proceeds from this annual event support the Sisters who do not receive any outside subsidy.
