In light of all that is happening in our country, I turned to our Benedictine tradition and specifically the spirit of Benedict, which is just as relevant today as it was in the sixth century. I have come to believe that Jesus gave us a mandate, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” Benedict, in turn, heard this mandate and set out to show us how to live it.
